EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

We believe Emotional Intelligence is the missing piece in traditional education. Facilitators at DCS understand the impact of their RELATIONSHIP with young children and thus, support and hold socio-emotional learning as the first building block in academic and emotional success. Educators/facilitators at DCS value human interactions, and look for opportunities to support emotional awareness and expression, guiding children through conflict by providing sustainable tools to build strong relationships and self-regulation. With a special emphasis on needs and feelings, DCS supports early learning experiences that not only engender socio-emotional and intellectual health in the now, but also aide in the development of neurological pathways in the brain through attached and connected relationships. Cutting-edge research shows these pathways are rapidly developing starting at birth through 7 years of age, creating neurological foundations necessary for later successes in life.
